For me, “Art That Makes Life Pop” is more than just a saying, it’s what I truly believe.
Life isn’t always calm, quiet, or perfectly curated especially when you’re raising kids and building something at the same time. That reality is part of exactly why I’m drawn to bold, expressive art.
For me, art that makes life pop is art that adds joy, color, and energy to real life moments. It’s art that meets life where it’s at and makes it feel a little brighter.

ToggleArt That Makes Life Pop Is About Feeling, Not Perfection
I don’t create art to be “safe” or blend in to what is trending online.
I create art to:
- Spark emotion
- Shift energy
- Make ordinary moments feel more intentional
Color, pattern, and bold, colorful design choices are how I communicate that. Art doesn’t need to be serious to be meaningful. In fact, I believe the most impactful art often feels playful, expressive, and deeply human (with a little quirk).
This philosophy ties closely into my belief that color plays a powerful role in how we experience our spaces and our lives. Color has the ability to lift a mood, ground a space, or completely change how something feels — and that matters.
Color Is the Fastest Way to Make Life Feel More Alive
I have said this before and I will say it again: Color is my creative anchor. It’s what makes me feel alive and seen as an artist.
I approach color the same way I approach pattern: with intention. My saturated palette anchors my work, showing up across different pieces and collections. Over time, these repeated choices have become a core palette that gives my art structure while still allowing room to evolve.
That balance is something I rely on when designing collections that feel connected rather than chaotic.
To me, art that makes life pop is expressive and energetic, not loud for attention, but confident in its purpose.
Patterns & Illustrations are How My Art Lives Beyond the Screen
Because I work digitally, I’m always thinking about how my art can live beyond my Procreate canvas.
My illustrations and patterns are designed to be flexible and intentional, allowing them to show up in everyday life as:
- Fabric and wallpaper
- Home decor and art prints
- Gifts and statement pieces
- Digital downloads and creative assets
Illustrations give my work personality and storytelling, while patterns allow that same energy to repeat, expand, and flow across different surfaces. This is where my love for folk-inspired motifs, repetition, and bold color really comes together.
It’s also how my art becomes part of real homes and real routines; something I dive into more in 10 Ways to Use Seamless Patterns in Your Home Decor.
This is where art that makes life pop stops being an idea and starts becoming something you can actually live with.
Creating as a Stay-at-Home Mom Changed My Definition of Success
Becoming a mom didn’t slow my creativity, it simply changed the way I measure success.
Success used to look like long creative sessions, finished pieces every day, and constant momentum. Now, it looks quieter and more intentional. It looks like honoring the season I’m in while still building something meaningful.
My art happens in real life moments, in between early morning sun rises, snack refills, school pickups, and late-night resets. Not every day is productive, and not every idea gets finished right away. And I have learned to be okay with that.
What this season has taught me:
- Progress doesn’t require daily output
- Creative momentum can exist without pressure
- Sustainable art comes from working with life, not against it
Because my time and energy matter, I design with longevity in mind. I create pieces that can evolve by becoming digital products, print-on-demand designs, or part of larger collections across platforms like Etsy, Spoonflower, Threadless, and Redbubble. I share more about this approach in Turning One Design Into Multiple Streams of Income.
For me, art that makes life pop isn’t about doing more.
It’s about protecting creativity so it can keep showing up even in busy, imperfect seasons.
Art That Makes Life Pop Is ALSO Deeply Personal
My art is influenced by:
- My Mexican American and German heritage
- Otomi folk art and storytelling
- Manifestation, intention, and belief
- Motherhood and real life rhythms
All of those layers show up through bold color, playful symbolism, and expressive pattern work. This is why I see art first and foremost as self-expression something I talk about more openly in art as a form of self-expression.
When art is rooted in authenticity, it naturally connects with others.
Why This Philosophy Shapes Everything I Create
“Art that makes life pop” guides:
- What I draw
- How I choose color
- The products I create
- The business model I build
It reminds me that art doesn’t need to be complicated to be meaningful. It just needs to feel alive, intentional, and aligned.
Whether my work lives as a digital download, fabric design, home decor piece, or gift, my goal is always the same: to add color, joy, and personality to everyday life.
Final Thoughts
